IREDA Financial Results for September Quarter Shows Robust Loan Growth

India’s Minister for New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), Mr Pralhad Joshi, highlighted that the country’s clean energy journey continues to gain strong momentum, driven by the impressive Q2 FY26 performance of the Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA).

He noted that IREDA is fostering sustainable growth and self-reliance in the renewable energy sector, lighting up India’s future and inspiring collective efforts toward a greener and brighter tomorrow, with passion and purpose.

IREDA is a government-owned financial institution established in 1987 under India’s MNRE. The company listed on the stock exchanges serves as a specialised Non-Banking Financial Company (NBFC) dedicated to promoting, developing, and extending financial assistance for projects related to new and renewable energy sources, as well as energy efficiency and conservation.

The government-owned green NBFC announced its audited financial results for the quarter and half-year ended September 30, 2025, continuing its trajectory of robust growth and operational excellence.

The Board of Directors, in its meeting held today, approved the audited financial results. IREDA has registered significant year-on-year growth across key financial metrics.

The company’s expanding loan book, rising net worth, and consistent profitability underscore its strategic focus and commitment to supporting India’s renewable energy ambitions.

The sanctioned loans on a standalone basis increased by more than 145% from ₹8,724 crore (Q2 FY 2024-25) to ₹21,408 crore (Q2 FY 2025-26), while loan disbursements increased to ₹8,062 crore from ₹4,462 crore in the previous year. The profit after tax grew by more than 40% YoY, and revenue from operations increased by 26%.

In FY 2024-25, IREDA’s financial results showed a strong set of numbers, with its revenue from operations reaching ₹6,743.32 crores. As per the performance-based agreement, the company has set a revenue from operations target of ₹8,200 crores for FY 2025-26.

Commenting on the Q2 performance, Mr Pradip Kumar Das, Chairman & Managing Director, IREDA, stated, “IREDA’s consistent growth across quarters underscores our strategic focus and execution excellence.
