Renewable Energy Company Soleos Energy Raise $12 million in Funding

Ahmedabad-based renewable energy company Soleos Energy has raised $12 million in a funding round led by GVFL, with participation from Tipsons Group, Navin Dalmia, and several other investors.

Gujarat Venture Finance Limited (GVFL) invested $2.5 million in the round. In October 2025, Soleos raised ₹200 million (~$2.26 million) from GVFL.

Founded in 2012 by Bhavesh Rathod, Soleos Energy specialises in solar energy solutions as a leading EPC (engineering, procurement, and construction) provider.

The firm manufactures bifacial and monofacial half-cut solar modules using automated Italian technology and offers the proprietary TPSAT Solar Tracker. Using advanced sensors and motion, solar trackers follow the sun’s path and maximise energy production by adjusting the angle of the solar panels.

Soleos Energy provides end-to-end services, including project development, EPC execution, commissioning, asset management, and battery energy storage systems (BESS) integration.

The solar energy company has developed more than 120 solar projects, focusing on rooftop installations, ground-mounted farms, and solar parks for commercial, industrial, and residential clients.

In addition to India, the company has expanded internationally into Africa and Europe, including the UK, Germany, Kenya, the UAE, Spain, and Portugal.

The funding will be used to expand Soleos’ development pipeline, fund construction in different regions, strengthen investor governance, scale group-captive and consumer-focused energy models, and build integrated solar-plus-storage capabilities.

India’s solar energy sector has surged, reaching nearly 130 GW of installed capacity by October 2025, driven by policies such as the National Solar Mission and the PM Surya Ghar Rooftop Solar Programme.

As of September 2025, India achieved a historic milestone: its total installed electricity capacity crossed 500 GW, reaching 500.89 GW, of which more than 50% comes from non-fossil fuel sources. This country aims to achieve a 500 GW non-fossil target by 2030.
